Houston (ICIS) - As offshore producers continue to recover from production interruptions caused by Hurricane Ida, more than 75% of oil and natural gas production in the U.S. Gulf region are separately suspended.

According to the US Bureau of Security and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), currently 76% of oil production and 77% of natural gas production in the Gulf of Mexico are still closed.

The table below shows the number of evacuated platforms and rigs, including the total amount of oil and gas that have been shut down.

Continue to check the facility for damage. BSEE stated that once all standard inspections have been completed, the production of undamaged facilities will resume online, while facilities that continue to be damaged may take longer to come back online.

Shell is redeploying staff for its Appomattox assets and continues to deploy staff to its Enchilada/Salsa and Auger assets.

The company said that although its Appomattox, Mars, Olympus, Ursa, Auger and Enchilada/Salsa assets are still closed, no major losses have occurred. Approximately 80% of Shell's production is currently offline.

The damage assessment of Shell West Delta-143 (WD-143) offshore installations is still ongoing. This week, the company re-equipped Main Pass 69, Green Canyon 19 and South Pass 89.

Shell stated that it is currently unable to provide services to the downstream of Bucheon Port.

Occidental Petroleum said on Wednesday that three of its 10 platforms have restarted production and three of them are preparing to restart. The main coastal base was damaged by the storm, but the company has moved to shore-based operations.

It refused to provide a timetable for the full resumption of operations.

BP is resuming Atlantis and Mad Dog operations. Thunder Horse and Na Kika operations are expected to resume in the next few days.

Its onshore assets in Houma and Port Fourchon are undergoing maintenance. BP has temporarily relocated its coastal base to Galveston, Texas, and relocated the heliport to Lafayette, Louisiana.

The Port of Fuljeong, Louisiana, is continuing its recovery phase. The port is the main place for offshore workers.

Electricity restoration Among the 948,000 customers who lost service after Ida landed, 80% of the electricity has been restored, local electricity distributor Entergy said on Thursday.

As of September 8, 210 of the 226 affected transmission substations have been restored to service, and 174 of the 211 affected transmission lines have been restored to service. Approximately 450 miles (724 kilometers) of transmission lines are still unused.

The damage to the power distribution system in Louisiana and Mississippi included damage or destruction of 30,679 telephone poles, 36,469 wires, and 5,959 transformers.

Entergy said the number of damaged or destroyed utility poles exceeds the combined of Hurricane Katrina, Ike, Delta and Zeta.
